One thing that has always interested me in cardmaking is creating my own backgrounds for cards. I find it exciting to learn new techniques. This technique was posted on Facebook and was a card made by Ann K. The process is to tear paper and attach it to your background cardstock with removable adhesive. Then sponge or brush ink into the open space and then stamp images over the same area. When the mask is removed, you have an interesting background for your card. I've tried several of these with varying results.

Silver Sticker frames
A friend gave me a package of silver sticker frames.
I challenged myself to use all of them (2 sets) on cards.
Here is the result.
The 4 cards in the upper center show the outline portions, plus the inner parts. Here they are in individual photos.

More sticker frames
These sticker frames have many rows of individual stickers. They are all silver, but separate at many levels. I'm made a couple more cards with them:

Sticker frames
My challenge here was to make cards with some silver sticker frames. I have a lot more, so will work with them in the future.
The sentiments used here were a prize from Our Daily Bread Designs. I was a winner in the January challenge on the Stars & Stamps blog. The card with the yellow lower portion is embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder - friend.

OWH VCMp #10
It only took me a week, but I finished the OWH President's Day Virtual Card Making Party. Challenge #10 is to make a card with Glitz & Glam, without glitter.
There are many ways make a card glitzy. I chose to use glossy cardstock. I have a huge supply of it from when I fell in love with it years ago. I embossed the blue glossy cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, the patted Brilliance Pearlescent Orange ink onto the embossed swirls.
The orange part of the butterfly is also glossy cardstock. This butterfly is made with a 2 part QuicKutz die.
The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp and cut out with a Spellbinders die, then highlighted with Brilliance Pearlescent Orange ink.

OWH VCMP #9
This was a tough card for me. It's #9 in last weekend's OWH Virtual Card Making Party. The challenge was to make a card with all white or white/cream that is made with 3 layers.
I embossed the cream layer with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The sentiment stamp is from Penny Black and stamped in Encore champagne ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

OWH VCMP #8
Challenge #8 in the Operation Write Home Virtual Card Making Party was to make a card using Washi Tape. This stuff seems to be very popular, so I've bought a few rolls. I used the dotted tape over a strip of green cardstock on this card. I'm not fond of it unless I put it on cardstock for stability.

OWH VCMP #7
I finally made my card for the Virtual Card Making Party #7 - Caffeine Challenge.
The cup is an old rubber stamp from Ducks in a Row and stamped on tea stained watercolor paper with Memories Artprint Brown ink. The sentiment is from Stampa Rosa and stamped with same ink on same paper. Background papers are from MME.

OWH VCMP #6
I'm moving on with the Virtual Card Making Party with challenge #6. This challenge is to make a card using Things with Wheels.
I made this card for an Any Hero card. The sentiment is stamped inside the card and leaves room for me to hand write a personal message. We include a few cards of gratitude for our heroes in each box we send to them.
The patterned paper on the front of card is from a pad from K & Co. The tank is a 3-D sticker from K & Co. These were received in a prize package from Operation Write Home. It's hard to read the words on the paper, but it says American Hero, protecting our country & Freedom. There is also an image of a Marine, partly covered by the tank.
