Trying again

I've been having a rough time getting motivated to make cards, but have lots of family birthdays in March, so I'm trying.  I started with watercolor backgrounds, using pearlescent watercolors and twinkling H2Os.
I noticed some prominent red spots in the background once it had dried.  I added the top layer from a layering rose stamp to turn them into roses.  I cut this out with my pierced rectangle dies and added a sentiment with stickers.

Progress

Finally the street in front of my home is paved.  It seemed like a really long process, but we can drive on the street at last.  They still have to come back to finish a few details, but the street is open once again.  Our weather is beautiful and I've been enjoying being outside.  Maybe I'll soon get in the mood to make cards again.  I have family birthdays in March.

Catching up

It's been a long time since I posted.  Winter is always difficult for me.  Cool, damp weather makes my body ache and the short days create depression, along with grief that returns during the holidays.  I'm doing okay, just not motivated to create.

This week has been spent watching the road crews preparing to repave the street where I live.  They have run into a problem of wet clay in the roadbed.  This has meant removing and replacing gravel in the roadbed.  After a week, they have decided to cover it with gravel again and let it sit over the weekend to see how it looks on Monday.  At that time they will decide what to do.  This has been my view for most of the week.
