Watercolor Birthday card

The older I get, the more difficult it is to get motivated to make cards.  I seem to have many other things occupying my mind and time.  I'm also getting slower at accomplishing tasks at hand.  My little dog is also growing older and developing more ailments.  I must keep him in medications as I try to keep up with my own.

This card took me nearly a month to complete.  I created the background with pearlescent watercolors and twinkling H2Os.  Then I tried to find ways to use the background.  When pressured for time, I added a few things to finish the card.

The corner are stickers that have been in my stash for years.  The flower is made with a Sizzix embosslit die.  I cut the flower from copper paper, then patted gold Brilliance ink.  A gem was glued in the center of flower.  The sentiment was made with a Taylored Expressions stamp and die set.  The flower and the sentiment are popped with Tombow Xtreme tabs.

Doxie card

I frequently run out of ideas for cards for people that I have sent many cards.  This is for my son's birthday, so I made this one about my dog.
The background is made with an argyle embossing folder with ink brayers to inside of folder.  See technique here.  Sentiment is made with Martha Stewart punch.  Dog is made with a Poppystamps die and pawprints with a rubber stamp.  The inside of card was stamped with rubber stamps and the same Kaleidacolor Cappuccino Delight ink pad.
