I got so involved this month in creating cards from a 6"X6" paper pad, that I nearly forgot to do the Boot Camp challenge for May. If you aren't following the Boot Camp on Stars & Stamps Blog, it's a great way to learn to improve your cardmaking. Paula posts these once a month.
This challenge was to use variety in your cards to create interest.
The patterned paper are still from the Love Notes pad from Fancy Pants Designs. The background adds texture both by the paper design and embossing. The sentiment is from one of the newer OWH/Hero Arts stamp sets. I cut the sentiment and frame with rectangle Nestibilities and the hearts with heart Nestibility Dies.
I've also made a few more cards for the 6X6 challenge, so I'll post them here. You can see all of my cards by reading previous posts on my blog.
These are all very nice Velda. I particurlalry like the one you've singled out for Bootcamp. The hearts are a perfect touch and the variation in size is great, as is the extra dark framing layer you added behind the sentiment and the entire background. That ribbon technique (i call it candy ribbon cause it reminds me of it) adds nice interest and dimension. You should be very pleased with how all your 6x6 cards have turned out!
ReplyDeleteI love what you are doing with the 6x6 pads. Lots of ideas.
