I had a nice week, with a visit from my son and his wife. After they left, I had to make a quick birthday card to get in the mail.
I stamped watercolor paper with Versamark ink and added clear embossing powder to create a resist. Then, I added Twinkling H2O watercolors. They give a nice shimmer, which doesn't really show in the photo. I added coarse salt and a crinkled plastic wrap and allowed it to dry. I then splattered it with another Twinkling H2O to add some spots. Finally, I stamped the sentiment using my mini Misti because it takes more than one stamping to get a good impression on watercolor paper. I added the framing layer and put it on a white card base. I wish you could see all the shimmer.

Paper hugs
I like the term 'paper hugs' for cards that are sometimes difficult to design. This card is for a special granddaughter who has recently been through some tough times.
I made the base card with Twinking H2Os on watercolor paper. When dry, I placed it in an embossing folder and ran it through my very old Big Shot. I then tapped a Brilliance Pearlescent Lavender ink pad lightly over the embossed areas. I made the frame with 2 stitched rectangle dies. The hugs was cut with a Hero Arts die, 3 layers glued on top of each other for thickness. The base card is a light grey.

Difficult times
Difficult times have overwhelmed me recently. However, I felt the need to create a card for others at the center of these difficult times. This card was made for the family directly affected by a family suicide.
This card began with an embossing folder to create the sentiment area. I then watercolored the outside and inside of the embossed shape. I stamped the sentiment inside the shape with Versamark ink and added colored embossing powder. I then found cardstock to go with the watercolored area and framed the center layer on a 5X7 card base. I added the punched butterfly later. The message inside says: I wish I could give you a hug that would last forever.
